About Jess Edwards
I am a Tutor and Mentor who is motivated by helping others and encouraging them to thrive beyond their goals, despite the difficulties they may face. I serve a positive role model for the students and exercise patience, tolerance, and critical thinking every day. My ultimate goal is to inspire them along the way and help them grow into respectable and extraordinary beings, while growing to cherish their education and build better futures for themselves.
I am truly passionate about my work and always eager to help others in need. While I enjoy all the aspects of my job, my favorite thing to do in my downtime is advocate for those in peril. I am a Social Media Activist in areas of social justice and am a strong supporter of the #BlackLivesMatter movement as well as a human rights advocate. I enjoy researching about topics that interests me and those that plague the world that I live in. I use history to see where trends lies, mistakes were made, and to find possible solutions for those problems such as police brutality, human trafficking, etc.
I have a BA in International Relations and a Minor in History from Texas State University. However, I hope to embark on a graduate career in Law or History or both, since I have an educational background in research, law, and history.
I’m always interested in hearing from other creative individuals fueled by similar passions, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to brainstorm.
