If I do not know something I go and learn it. After all they do not continually update curriculum's to include the newest trendy frameworks, so one must always be seeking to learn. Especially when you get pulled in to help with a project, you need to hit the ground running. A good developer can pickup on a different language within a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, reality doesn't read job descriptions, and whether or not you're supposed to be responsible, reality is going to prepose skew right between you and success.
