I am a master crocheter who loves working with both kids and adults.
Absolute beginners will start with a sampler swatch to learn the basic stitches. Their first real project will be a scarf so people can develop comfort with their tension and personal style and begin producing consistent, even, stitches.
I can also teach advanced subjects like tunisian crochet, lacework, tapestry crochet, and amigurumi. These topics require some knowledge of crochet, though I am happy to take you from beginner to more advanced topics if you want to dedicate the time!
Training & Qualifications
I've been crocheting for over a decade and have in that time taught may people, including my own 6 year old, to crochet.
Availability & Preferences
I am usually free during the day when my kids are in school. I can be available via internet around 9pm EST after the kids are in bed too, but I can't go out at that time. I can usually take appointments at just about any time with enough notice to find a sitter, but I am not usually available for last minute gigs because of the constraints of single motherhood.
I volunteer at the school all the time. I do have a mohawk, but I promise I'm not sketchy; I'm the kind of punk that writes letters to legislators and wears political tshirts, not the kind of punk that steals and vandalizes (although I have been known to put wiggle eyes on things). I am happy to meet in a public place before exchanging services, or teach entirely in public places.
