My Name is James Basler. I am a graduate student at Texas State University - San Marcos studying cultural anthropology with an emphasis on understanding social patterns within the LGBT+ Community. I am an experienced researcher, both in library and fieldwork settings, with training in qualitative methodologies. Presently I am working on several private writing and research projects to expand my experience level and pursue academic interests.
I am also a professional member of the United States Fencing Association (USFA) and United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA), with nationally recognized training in risk mitigation through the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). I served as the head of a USFA club at Texas State University and am experienced at mentoring student athletes and managing large scale events. Most recently I have been elected as Vice Chair of the South Texas Division of the USFA.
I greatly enjoy reading, writing, and teaching others in academic settings and expanding the public's knowledge on LGBT issues, Autism spectrum, and the sport of Fencing.
