45 Minute Belly Dancing Lesson
I will teach you some of the basics of belly dancing aka Middle Eastern dance aka baladi:
How to isolate different parts of your body (head, shoulders, chest, hips, arms)
How to layer basic moves on each other
I will ask for your input on what you want to learn, or I can choose what to teach if you are not sure.
Let me know if you have any pre-existing injuries/pain/weaknesses so that we can dance safely.
A small sample of moves that I can teach: hip bumps, shimmies, snake arms, shoulder rolls, body undulation/camel, and many more!
The lesson will consist of:
Brief discussion of what we will be learning, your preferences, and making sure audio/visual/music is all working well
Warm up and stretching
Reviewing proper posture
Learning and practicing new moves
Learning and practicing simple combo(s) of moves learned so far
It's such a fun dance, suitable for all ages and shapes. Give it a try if you are interested!
Training & Qualifications
I took belly dancing lessons for several years and was then in a semi-professional belly dancing troupe, performing a few times a year. I taught a belly dancing basis class one evening at a college. I consider myself to be an advanced amateur.
