20 min. Vocal coaching for children

30

30 per session - Virtual OK - Posted Jun 14, 2017

I will set up a virtual coaching session with you and your child. After listening to them sing, I will give a quick lesson and some pointers to strengthen their ability. If you decide you would like weekly or bi-weekly sessions, I will alternate assigning songs that will improve range and tone, and letting them choose a song they want to learn. I would like them to practice their warm-ups and song assignment for 10-15 minutes daily. We will work on each song for approximately 2-3 weeks or until I am satisfied they have learned all that they can from it. We will simply be using karaoke tracks to practice with. I will also include some simple music reading instruction, and some basic "music from around the world" recognition. My end goal is for your child to feel confident and comfortable in their musical ability. Best for children aged 5-10

Training & Qualifications

I have been a vocalist from a very young age. From singing in church or at the county fair, and participating in community musical theater, I have experience in musical performance. I have taken many voice lessons and have passed what I have learned on to my younger sisters. I work very well with children. I hope to be able to encourage and help young talent thrive.

I love the idea of a trade and barter system! Trading goods and skills rather than currency works! It's what society needs to flourish. I believe it is the best way to ensure the future, and it's a...

About Eliza Ahrens

My name is Eliza and I am a stay-at-home wife, and new mother. I come from a large family and thanks to the craziness that ensued, I'm a rather patient person who tends to be great with children. I wa...s homeschooled on and off as a child and eventually left public school for good as a junior in high school when I realized that the public school wasn't helping me achieve my goals. It wasn't encouraging my love of learning, it was crushing it. It wasn't helping me celebrate my individuality, it wanted conformity. How's that helpful? Add to that the chaotic social dynamics of hormonal teenagers and it just isn't a good environment for our young people. I went home to finish my schooling and by the time my peers were graduating, I had already graduated and moved on to my adult life. I was married to the love of my life. I was on a path towards true happiness. My husband had also been a homeschool graduate and thanks to his mothers encouragement, he had started a very successful wholesale bakery. By the time he was 15 it was flourishing. And now, we can't slow it down as it continues to grow and expand! I was working with him daily in the bakery until we found out that I was pregnant with our first child. Nosebleeds and morning sickness don't mix well with baking. Now, I am focused on bettering myself and learning new things. I've already started on photography, voice lessons, ukelele, and interior design and I hope to be able to excel in these soon. I believe that music has the power to change lives. I believe that a picture can say more than any spoken language can express. I believe that any room, no matter how small, can become a sanctuary or escape with just a few tweaks and some attention to detail. I love life. I love creating. I hope to someday soon go to barber school so that the haircuts I give to family and friends can become more than just a hobby. I love sunshine. I love baking on rainy days. I love to walk along the river and feel the sand between my toes. I love flying kites in the dark on a warm summer night. I love fireworks. I love to interact with people from all stages of life. I love making people laugh. I love to see the joy on people's faces when the learn something new or experience something wonderful for the first time. Overall, I would say I am a simple person who enjoys life- and loves to look for, and appreciate, the small things- as I live it fully. show more
