About Eileen Hendriksen
Eileen Hendriksen is an advanced standing MSW candidate at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College (CUNY) following the Community Organizing, Planning, & Development method, and the Aging field of practice. At Silberman, Eileen was awarded a scholarship from the Hugh Downs endowment for students specializing in gerontology. Eileen has professional and field experience working with older adults, those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias and their caregivers, adults with developmental disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence. Eileen attended Dominican College and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and was inducted into Alpha Chi, Phi Alpha, and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Societies. Eileen has facilitated several watercolor painting workshops for individuals with dementia in collaboration with her local office of The Alzheimer’s Association. Following completion of her MSW degree, Eileen is interested in pursuing a career where she can combine her interests in art, aging, and community organizing.
