Counter intuitive addiction therapy
3
I can explain how and why addiction is something that can be overcome by embracing the realities about it. most recovery services focus on how you are powerless, and avoiding admission of personal responsibility. I throw all of that out the window and can effectively argue why and how addiction is not a disease, but rather a symptom of a mind which is suffering from any number of other ailments, including mental illness.
Training & Qualifications
I am a fully recovered "drug addict"- nearly all drugs. I pulled myself out of the lifestyle by shifting my thinking and perspective about responsibility, values, and intellectual honesty.
No degree, obviously, but during my many years of poor decision making, I never once encountered even one licensed drug therapist or counselor that could admit that it ultimately boils down to choice once it contradicted their beliefs in a "higher power"- and sorry, but if "god" is your qualifying factor over the piece of paper you paid for- well, my qualification is actually living through it and understanding it.
kind of like how it doesn't matter if you believe in gravity, it still exists, and it's a matter of whether or not you understand it.
Availability & Preferences
it varies. whenever I'm not working or otherwise involved with someone or something else. if you need my advice or help, you'll get it, it just might take anywhere from NOW to a few hours!
