First I will explain to you what meditation is- and what it isn't. I'll start by asking you what you know about it and we'll go from there. I'll help to clear up any misconceptions you have about it. I'll also go over some of the benefits of meditation and what you can expect from a regular meditation practice. I'll help you to gain the right mindset to approach meditation meaningfully and effectively.
I'll also gladly answer any questions about meditation. The form of meditation I teach you can be catered to your particular situation and personality. There are many different forms of meditation and not all of them work equally well for different people- so we can work to find the best kind for you.
This consultation will last anywhere from 15-40 minutes depending on your individual needs
Training & Qualifications
I have been meditating regularly for about 3 years now. In the beginning it was on and of but I have gradually been increasing the amount of time I spend meditating and the regularity with which I do so. For about a year now I have been meditating on a daily basis (with a couple odd exceptions). I generally spend about 30 minutes meditating with a simple focus on my breath. I have also experimented briefly with walking meditation, mantra meditation, and present moment meditation (being extremely aware of sensations).
In addition, I have done some amount of research as to the scientifically validated benefits of meditation and read a lot from spiritual traditions as to the experiential benefits. I have attended many workshops on meditation as well and utilize meditation and what I've learned through it regularly to bring balance to my life.
