Curtis McMillan has been a student, master, and entrepreneur in many facets of the alcoholic beverage industry for over 20 years. A nightclub worker and restaurateur, Curtis turned his passion from cocktails to spirits education in 2008. He has since become an accredited Master of Whiskey, a Master of Tequila, a Gin Historian, a Level 1 Certified Beer Server, and a graduate of Bar Smarts Advanced.

Curtis has dedicated the last decade to working for brands like Anheuser-Busch, Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Hudson whiskey, Ardbeg scotch, and Milagro Tequila. He has been selected as a judge for liquor competitions such as Liquor.com’s Woodford Reserve Manhattan Experience, Diageo World Class 2015 Competition, Patron Regional Competition, and the Massachusetts Moonshine Exhibition. In producing his own whiskey, Curtis’ first commercial batch was rated 86 by the trade publication Whiskey Advocate.

Curtis has a passion and deep focus on innovation in alcohol production. He pushes himself and the industry to rethink the prevailing tools and topics to produce novel and unconventional flavors. He enjoys educating others in the art and science of alcohol production and selection, regardless of their level of expertise. Curtis prides himself on being able to explain complex ideas in understandable ways.

He currently lives in Massachusetts with his Wife and his one-year-old son, Ciro
