I want to help you feel confident singing by yourself and in public! I work with all different skill and interest levels, and can also teach sightsinging and how to read music. During our lessons we will usually begin with a few warm-up exercises, then apply concepts practiced in our warm-up to the songs you would like to sing. You can come to me with songs you already know, or I can suggest pieces in whatever style you choose (normally classical, musical theatre, or pop music) and help you learn them. We can also work on your fluency with reading music off of the page, so that eventually you will be able to pick up sheet music and learn it by yourself, without listening to a recording for assistance. We can also work on sight reading, so that you can read the music immediately off the page, the way you would read a book- without needing to play the notes on a piano or other instrument in order to hear what it should sound like. The possibilities are endless!!
