If you are local and can meet up somewhere, I can give you fresh, active starter. But I also dehydrate my starter for shipping. Here in warm Hawaii, it only takes about 3 days to reactive it but if you are someplace cooler, it will take a little longer. I will also send you information on how to reactive and care for your starter. And there is a link at the bottom of this listing for TONS of sourdough recipes. In addition to regular sourdough bread, we have made pancakes, waffles, cookies, banana bread and bagels with it!
If we are meeting locally*, it is 10 simbi for half a cup of fresh starter.
If I am mailing it to you, it is 20 simbi for 2 Tbsp of dehydrated starter. That is enough to start a batch and keep some of the dehydrated flakes in the freezer as a backup.
Both options include the info you'll need to care for your sourdough.
* I live in Waianae and don't drive, so you can either pick up at your convenience or we can meet somewhere when I'm already going to be out, which completely depends on my husband's schedule. I'm not able to just come deliver. We go in to Kapolei a few times a week and Honolulu a few times a month. We get up to the North Shore about once a month.
