Then, I received my B. S. degree from Villa Maria College in Erie, PA. I was a professional Elementary Education teacher and taught piano lessons privately most of my life. Music is my passion and I love passing on the legacy to my students who I hope will enjoy playing until they can't see, hear, or sit up anymore, basically all their lives. I don't ever intend to stop teaching, as I'm doing what I love so every day is a joy. Additional affiliations: I was a board member of the Chapel Hill Music Teachers Association for 16 years as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Newsletter, Publicity chair and participate every year in the annual Guild Auditions . Student perform 10 pieces which include improvisation, technical exercise using scales, arpeggios, chord cadences, ear training, transposition, and sight-reading . Some do a traditional classical program choosing pieces from the 4 big eras of music, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary Periods. Others can choose a hobby program, or a Jazz program. If one has a basis in the classics jazz and contemporary music is a breeze. Also there is a composer competition for those students who really want to express themselves in an individual way.
