Blu's Baked Goodies
I will bake for small gatherings, bake sales, dates, dinners, etc. I specialize in breads, pies, and pastries. I can also make cookies, cakes, and everything within the realm of a pastry chef.
I do not make wedding cakes. I can make the base cakes, but you will need to find a cake decorator for the actual decorating. I can do limited designs such as writing, piped borders, a few flowers, and some embellishments, but nothing too intricate.
I do not work with fondant or buttercreams. I prefer to use a whipped cream icing stabilized with either gelatin or cornstarch.
You will be responsible for the ingredients, serving ware, wait staff, etc. I'm only there to bake. I will clean up after myself, but that is where I end. I am not a server, a waiter, or a dishwasher. I will only bake and clean up my own messes.
Training & Qualifications
I have been a professional baker for 10 years and a part time personal chef for 4 years. My cooking abilities are high, but my focused training is in baked goods. I make bread, pastries (sweet or savory), cakes (simple decorations), and custards. I am currently studying to obtain my certifications from the Retail Bakers of America and the American Culinary Federation.
