Clothing hemming/repair/alterations

I am a home sewer, most familiar with women's wear. I can tackle your pile of mending for a reasonable price, or hem those pants that were perfect everywhere except the length. I'm comfortable doing hand work, such as embroidery and/or beading repair. Does your favorite dress have a broken zipper? Or is the lining crumbling in that beautiful vintage purse you bought? I would love to help restore or fit your favorite items!

Although I've dabbled in Men's Tailoring, I prefer not to work with men's suites that need a lot of tailoring. I can handle seam repair, lining rips, shortening or lengthening the cuffs and bottom hem, replacing buttons, etc.

Training & Qualifications

I started delving into the world of Fiber Arts at a young age, and fell in love with costume creation in my teens. Over the years, I have taken several classes to further my skills, and have worked in several costume shops around the Seattle area.

Availability & Preferences

Very open availability, though I am most certainly a night owl.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

I love the idea of a barter system:we all know the value of our work, and wish to trade accordingly.

About Amethyst Beach

A Seattle Local, I grew up here and love our rainy days along with the beautifully clear ones. An admitted Crazy Cat Lady, I'm also an avid reader and enjoy many different Fibre Arts like sewing, quil...ting, and crocheting (Hooking, if ur savvy!) along with other forms of creating art. In my professional life, I am a Birth, Postpartum and Bereavement Doula as well as a Hospice Volunteer. I'm comfortable with hard conversations and holding space for others going thru something life changing. In our city full of transplants, we have to be the village for each other where we can.show more
