About Alix Devendra
I help people connect the dots. I can see and identify patterns where others just see complexity. This intuitive way of thinking is the special thing I can bring to a team. I am constantly absorbing and analyzing information and helping the team make better decisions.
How do I know this? Because I have made a conscious effort to increase my self-awareness and discover my unique strengths and core values. I used to practice law; it was only after I left that world that I began to get to know myself and understand my driving purpose.
I left law practice to focus on improving *how* law is practiced. I became a legal designer so that I could teach other lawyers how to leverage design principles to improve their work (and people's access to legal services).
I quickly realized that changing the legal profession is a tall order. And it is hard to make much progress until we change the culture of our legal organizations. Grappling with this challenge led me to learn about organization design. As I learned about the responsive org movement, teal organizations, and related topics such as second-tier consciousness, I realized that building a better legal system is deeply intertwined with building a better society in general.
While I still enjoy my legal design work, I have broadened my range of projects to include working collaboratively with diverse teams to design and build the components of the world we *want* to live in.
