Organic sourdough starter + lesson
We'll give you some Organic sourdough starter that you can feed and use for baking bread. We'll also explain to you how to feed it, use it in substitution , and keep it alive.
Our sourdough starter is very special to us. It is a combination of wild yeasts and bacteria from the air but also some of the bacteria and yeasts from our Kombucha culture!
What's special about a good sourdough starter is it contains BOTH yeasts and bacteria that exist symbiotically, just like our Simbi economy!
Establishing this culture took about one month and five pounds of flour that was fed and discarded carefully until the culture took hold. The sourdough has the subtle aroma of kombucha and produces decadent breads.
Bring a jar (or we'll provide one for 5 extra Simbi) and well give you enough sourdough to get your own culture brewing. Need to bake right away? For an extra 5 Simbi we'll double the quantity.
Training & Qualifications
I've been brewing and fermenting food and beverages since year 2000. I took microbiology in my undergrad and have a good understanding of the chemical processes involved with fermenting foods.
Availability & Preferences
When the stars align with our schedules we can make this happen. My wife is the baker so if I'm not around you can get the culture and lesson from her.
