Martial arts, health and fitness
I teach martial arts and fitness, along with history(military or otherwise), alternative medicine, tactical knowledge borne of 8 years in the service, and more. I have a quirky sense of humor and find that it makes learning more effective and fun. My main intent is to help people improve their ability to enjoy life to the fullest extent possible. If someone wants to learn the basic concepts of self defense, I can explain it in a way that is very accessible, no matter their previous skill level. However, I firmly believe that something left un-practiced is not a skill, but only a theory. That said, I am willing to teach as much as possible virtually, and will then aid in during the student to an appropriate teacher near them, if not in my area. As far as fitness and general health, I can teach a bit further, but similar rules apply.
Training & Qualifications
19 years of martial arts training, with a 3rd degree black belt in Kenpo, just under black belt in hapkido, experience in wing chun, JKD, baguazhang, tai chi, and some jiujitsu/judo. I have been pursuing a master's in acupuncture for 3 years, and am taking a break to get finances under control. I have been in the army national guard for 8 years, engineers and infantry. I have a CDL, but hate driving otr, never doing it again. I'm working on getting my personal trainer certification, when the money is available.
